Campus Conversations Opening Event: Testimonio: Empowerment and Connection Through Story

Dra. Aurora Chang

Through our stories, or testimonios, we can find empowerment and connection. Dra. Aurora Chang will share her personal testimonio and facilitate an opportunity for participants to share their own stories with one another in small groups.

Once an undocumented immigrant from Guatemala and raised in Richmond, California in an family of eight, Dra. Chang now considers herself a "hyperdocumented" professor.  A graduate of UC Berkeley (BA), Stanford (Master's), and The University of Texas at Austin (PhD), Dra. Chang is currently an Associate Professor and Director of the Higher Education Program at Loyola University
Chicago. She is the author of the book, "The Struggles of Identity, Education, and Agency in the Lives of Undocumented Students: The Burden of Hyperdocumentation."
